Family Literacy Program: Empowering Parents & Caregivers
About Raising Readers
Raising Readers Academy is designed to educate and empower families! Each session starts with dinner or snacks, provided by us, and a story time to demonstrate read-aloud techniques for parents.Â

Children then work with our RRA helper to engage in literacy activities while their parents have conversations about literacy development, soft skills, and the love languages of children.
Through Raising Readers, we hope families will learn how to build homes that support their children's development.
This program, led by certified educators, works to break down generational cycles of illiteracy. This is just one way READ offers free reading help in Saginaw!
